Hailing from Ludhiana district of Punjab, Salma being a muslim woman has been running Gaushala for the past 11 years. A perfect example of service is set by Salma in this orthodox society.
There are more than 33 cattles in her Gaushala right now. All these have been rejected by the owners or they were diseased or disabled. Salma finds such cattles and take care of them in her own place. This was started in year 2007 when she found a wounded bull on the road she brought him to her home and started taking care of him. Few days after she found a stray cow she also brought her home and started taking care of them.
Her father Nek Mohammad and her Mausi helps her to run the Gaushala.
6 Marriage Proposal Rejected
Salma turning 33 years old now, says that more than 6 times my marriage has been rejected because of this cattle service. Each time the boy and his family return their home saying. “Ek muslim ladki ko gaushala chalane ki kya jarurat.”
Means – A muslim girl cannot runs Gaushala or take care of animals specially cows and bulls.
Salma speaks that people utilizes this cattles for their benefits and when they become old and diseased they live on their fate to die. I do not care this cattles because they are considered as Gods in some religions. It’s because our Quran teaches us that every beings on this earth are created by Allah. And it is duty of every muslim to take care of every living beings.
